The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, starring Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson, has officially announced its release date.
Lionsgate announced yesterday, January 9, on Instagram that the movie will open in US theatres on April 19. No release date has been set for the UK yet.
The acclaimed 2014 book by historian Damien Lewis, which chronicles actual events, served as the inspiration for Guy Ritchie’s epic film about World War II.
In Churchill’s Secret Warriors, Ian Fleming, the author of James Bond, and Winston Churchill set out to create a covert combat group.

The blockbuster’s production came to an end in April of last year. Cavill mentioned how much he loved working with Ritchie shortly after filming was finished.
“That concludes the matter! I have had enough of Ungentlemanly Warfare. This is a depressing day. I’m going to sing the praises of our brave crew and echo the feelings of my co-stars,” he posted on Instagram.
“You don’t often find a team this motivated, committed, and invested in the storytelling. It is made even more driven and dedicated by having a leader like Guy Ritchie. He may be unmatched in his ability to develop characters and weave stories, and he uses it almost magically.”
